Ministry Staff

Senior Minister: Reverend Elizabeth Mora

Rev. Mora has been a devoted student of Unity for over 30 years. A native of Chicago, her mission is to share the Unity message with as many people as she can. With years of theater experience and a training background, she brings her natural talents to the pulpit on Sunday and to the classroom during the week.

She says: "I believe Unity has the message for our times. We are modern, inclusive, relatable and love-based. When people say they've given up on church, I tell them they need to try Unity. We rescue church for people, and I know the world needs us to do that."

Rev. Elizabeth offers an expansive perspective on life and spirituality, using humor, psychology, Buddhism, yoga, and story-telling.

Please join us at either the 9:00 am or 11:00 am service to hear a spiritual message filled with compassion, humor, authenticity and love. (Youth Education Ministry is available at the 11:00 am service.)

Unity Northwest is an interdenominational church with a mission to "Inspire and embrace the soul evolution of everyone in our church community."

Youth Minister: Carolyn Dunoon, Certified Spiritual Educator
Carolyn Dunoon is a third generation Unity girl, born and raised in Kansas City. Carolyn became a public school teacher in 1974. She has a BA and a MA In French. She lived in Paris and studied at the Sorbonne to complete her MA. Carolyn speaks both French and Spanish. She taught 36 years in public schools. After she retired in 2010, Carolyn became a regular substitute teacher because she missed teaching so much. Where ever and whom ever she teaches, it is a chance for her to affirm the love in all, to connect by our hearts. Teaching is a joy for her.

Carolyn joined Unity Northwest in 1982 and started teaching Sunday school in 1992, upon the request of the then minister, Rev Vi Davis. Her children were young and she wanted them to have the experience of Unity teachings as children. Teaching children is her passion! She loves to share the story of how we have God’s love in our heart and how to share it! (This Little Light of Mine!) Although she has volunteered at UNW in many different ways, nothing touches her heart like being with the kids, watching them grow in stature and understanding. She has even taught the children of her former students.

She is a Certified Spiritual Educator in Unity, trained by the best, Rev Diane Venzera. Carolyn served as her assistant director for 11 years. She has completed 34 classes of Unity Spiritual Education and Enrichment and will be applying for the LUT (Licensed Unity Teacher) program in Youth and Family Ministry soon. Carolyn consider it a great honor to serve as the Team leader of the Youth and Family Ministry at Unity Northwest!
Administrative Assistant: Betsy Nickerson
Betsy has been an enthusiastic member of Unity Northwest Church since 1989. After surviving Y2K (remember that?!) as a computer programmer, she decided that an administrative assistant position would be a much healthier employment. So, when the opportunity arose in August of 2002 to command the office here, she jumped in headfirst with both feet, and hasn‘t looked back. Betsy is also the Coordinator of the Prayer Chaplain team, and has been since its inception in May of 2003.
Music Director: Megon McDonough
Megon is a Religious Science Practitioner and an accomplished comedic actress, having appeared in numerous theater productions including a box office record-breaking starring role in "Always Patsy Cline".  Megon was awarded an ACE Cable award and has fourteen solo albums to her credit, including her latest, "Breathe".  She has also performed on five compilation albums and released five albums with the "Bitchin Babes".

Folk lovers may remember a 17 year old McDonough opening for such acts in the '70s as John Denver, Steve Martin and Harry Chapin, but McDonough classifies her music as folk/cabaret, citing her love of theatre and jazz as the reason for the unusual mix. Born in Illinois, she wrote her first song at 11 and was inspired to play the guitar and sing after watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan.  Ever since, her mantra, "Live to Sing and Love to Sing" has guided this wife and mother from Chicago.
Pianist: Tatiana Naumove
I've been involved with music since the age of 5 and have been a professional musician for many years. I graduated from Gorky State Conservatory( M.A.Piano performance and music theory)and have years of experience as a piano instructor in music school and college, and as a piano performer and accompanist. I have written and arranged works for theater and television. I have a strong classical background but also enjoy Pop, Rock, Jazz and New Age compositions

Playing in the church opened my eyes regarding the ability of music to have a great spiritual influence. I hope my love of music has touched the hearts of our church family, the people who I love. To me and hopefully to each of us, it adds a valuable dimension to our spiritual journey. It opens our hearts to God, the beauty of life and fellowship. I pray that my music reaches the meditations of every heart! I love to be here and enjoy working in our spiritual family!!!
